About

I have lived in Boulder since I was 11 months old after being adopted from China. I’ve been passionate about art since I was very young. On family vacations I would spend time drawing and painting with my dad using mini sketchbooks and travel watercolor kits. All kinds of art have been a prominent part of my education, from middle school film classes to AP Art and Design in high school. In high school I focused predominantly on drawing and painting, however I have also experimented with many other mediums like ceramics, printmaking, and mixed media. Aside from physical art, performing arts have also had a major role in my life, music and film being two of my greatest passions. Previous to being an Art Practices major, I spent two years working towards a film degree and am even considering going to graduate school for film. Despite having no background in it, I am excited to explore digital art and add a new medium to my portfolio. I personally make art as a creative outlet and find that it can also be a good mental reset. My art is typically influenced by other artists as well as pop culture. I like to try new trends or styles that I find on social media or the internet and then incorporate elements of that into my own art. I am always interested in pieces that have social commentary or tackle aspects of the human condition and hope to create work that has the same effect.
