Brainstorm Blog #2

I’m planning on tackling this project from a very natural perspective. I don’t want to incorporate a ton of rhythm and am planning on utilizing silence throughout. I also have not worked a ton with sound editing so I think it’ll be interesting to explore the effects and possibly be able to create some kind of story with the sound selection. I’m hoping to use a lot of different sounds and not repeat a ton in order to give it a natural, flowing feel. While keeping the natural feel, I also want to convey a certain ambience, I haven’t decided if I want to make something more unsettling or creepy or if I want to make something with more positive emotion to it. I’m looking forward to using different effects to really warp the sounds that we have available. I think some of the sounds I want to be completely indiscernible from what they originally were. While I want to incorporate silence or pauses, I don’t want the track to be choppy, so I’m considering using or creating some kind of white noise to give the track structure and consistency. After looking at the sound folder, I think there’s a good mix of nature sounds and more industrial? kinds of sounds. I think it’s be interesting to incorporate those two kinds of sounds to create something in the midway point.
